Asphalt pavement is utilized in a variety of different applications. Its durability, cost effectiveness and strength are why it is the material of choice for parking lots across the nation. Asphalt can withstand heavier loads and when combined with proper asphalt maintenance, it will last for many years.

We use only the highest quality asphalt that will last. Assisting our clients with new asphalt projects of almost any size, we have direct experience with projects varying from retail development to subdivisions and even large industrial parks. We understand that construction projects have important timelines. Our crew will make sure that the asphalt portion of your project is handled with great detail in a timely fashion.

Each project has a 3 step process:
Sub Grade Prep
The sub grade is like the foundation of your building. The strength of the sub grade will directly affect the longevity of your new asphalt. The sub grade material should meet all requirements for moisture content, thickness and smoothness. Accurate preparation and compaction of the finished sub grade is essential. Any weak areas of the sub grade should be dug out, repaired and retested. The sub grade must provide a solid foundation before the asphalt paving begins.

Graded Aggregate Base
Before the asphalt layer is placed on the graded aggregate base — often referred to as crush and run — the material should meet all the requirements for moisture content, thickness & smoothness. If the condition of the base material is stable and dry, and does not indent significantly under the wheels of a loaded dump truck, placement of the new asphalt mix may start. If the condition of the graded aggregate base is not adequate, the base course should be reworked or stabilized to the proper condition before paving begins.
Mix Placement

The last step is the actual laying and rolling of the asphalt. The purpose of the asphalt paver and roller is to place the hot-mix asphalt to the desired width and thickness and to produce a desired mat texture for a finished product.
